Bill Bates – Assistant
A member of the 1992, 1993 and 1995 Super Bowl Champions team, Coach Bates is a former pro-bowler who spent 15 years as a defensive back with the Dallas Cowboys. He then went on to be the special teams coach for 6 years with the Cowboys and a year with the Jaguars. At Tennessee, he was a four year starting safety. He was named second-team All-Southeastern Conference his junior and senior season. Recently he was awarded a position on the 100 Year All Tennessee Team. Coach Bates was inducted into the Knoxville Sports Hall of Fame in 2005. He and wife Denise have 5 children, 18 year old triplets Brianna, Hunter (#7, DB) Graham (#4, DB), Tanner, 16 and Dillon, 11.
